Configuration Files

The files page lets administrators view and edit selected system configuration files directly from the web interface, without needing SSH access to the appliance.

File list

Each file is shown with a friendly name, its location on the system, and a status indicator:

• Green — the file exists and can be edited
• Orange — the file exists but is read-only
• Red — the file could not be read

Editing a file

Open a file to view and edit its contents in a text editor in your browser. Some files have an associated action, for example restarting a service, which is shown before you save so you know what will happen.

Restoring defaults

If a file has been changed and you want to undo your changes, use Reload default to restore the file to its original content.

Editing these files directly can affect how PrivateLAN and its services operate — make sure you understand a setting before changing it.
